Ginkgo Bioworks Holdings DNA said Tuesday that it is partnering with Ceres Nanosciences, a developer of methods for identifying pathogens in wastewater, to provide laboratories worldwide with pathogen monitoring capabilities.
Ginkgo said that through this collaboration, its biosecurity arm Concentric will provide labs with on-site training and the materials needed to carry out wastewater testing workflow from Ceres.
Concentric and Ceres have set up labs across the Middle East and Africa through the partnership, Ginkgo added.
Pathogen monitoring capabilities, especially in wastewater, are designed to help public health institutions deal with regional biosecurity challenges, Ginkgo said.
Financial terms of the partnership were not provided.
